Task 4C continued - Inquiry Questions

Below are some questions I asked to another Dance Teacher working for the same company.
From this I can already see some questions which end up with a yes/no answer which would not support or contribute to an inquiry. These are simply initial question ideas to get the ball rolling before I decide on my topic and question. I have split the questions under 2 subtitles as they are the two initial areas I am interested at looking into. A) The Importance of Dance and B) Teaching Dance.

Professional Inquiry Beginning Questions-

The Importance of Dance

1. How can Dance impact the initial stages of a child’s education?

Children who participate in dance in their early ears of education experience increased confidence and self belief. Young dancers also experience the ability to work with others well.

Dance can aid on a child in non-educational situations such as skills learnt when working with others (social) and public speaking (confidence)

A structured PE lesson with a specific learning outcome is more beneficial from an educational perspective

Absolutely.

Yes even more so. The new curriculum highlights dance.

8. In your opinion, are there certain teaching qualifications you look upon with higher regard than others?

Not really, the experience and attitude of the teacher is more important

No

10. Read this quote: One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child. Carl Jung

Do you think a teacher of the Arts should do more than simply deliver the ‘raw material’ or ‘curriculum’? Why?

Yes, because if the teacher communicates their own passion then students are more likely to aspire to higher goals
